Draw sets clashes for exciting FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2021™

  • Opening game to feature Al Jazira Club (UAE) and Auckland City FC (NZL)

  • Club world champions to be crowned in Abu Dhabi on 12 February 2022

  • Official tournament emblem also revealed

Today’s draw for the FIFA Club World Cup 2021™, presented by Alibaba Cloud at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, delivered an exciting series of fixtures for the seven clubs who will compete for the crown of club world champions in the UAE from 3 to 12 February 2022. The action will get underway on 3 February with a clash between the host association representatives, Al Jazira Club, and the OFC Champions League representatives, Auckland City FC (NZL).

In the second round, Match 2 will see the winner of the CAF Champions League Al Ahly SC face the winner of the Concacaf Champions League CF Monterrey, and in match 3 the AFC Champions League winners Al Hilal SFC will face the winner of the opening game.

The winners of Al Ahly-Monterrey will move on to play Copa Libertadores champions SE Palmeiras (BRA) in one semi-final, while Al Hilal or the winner of Al Jazira-Auckland City will take on UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea FC (ENG).

The 2021 club world champions will then be crowned following the final due to take place on 12 February.

The draw also saw the unveiling of the official tournament emblem. With the competition returning to the UAE for the first time since 2018, the emblem brings together natural and cultural elements from the host association’s rich history. The warm multi-coloured hues of the desert and the sun and the lush shades of palm trees come together with historical inspirations from fishing, sailing and pearl diving to form the shape of the tournament’s iconic trophy. The ball crowning the top of the emblem contains elegant Arabic calligraphy meaning 'emirates'.
