National team football to the fore in Belgian PM meeting

Belgium’s contribution to women’s and men’s national team football was highlighted by FIFA President Gianni Infantino during a meeting with Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo around the 76th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York, USA.

Both the FIFA President and the Belgian Prime Minister spoke about the ongoing fight against racism and discrimination, the reform of the transfer system, and the important social role that football plays across the globe.

The FIFA President also referenced the positive development of women’s football in Belgium, and recent performances of the men’s national team football, as the ‘Red Devils’ have maintained their grip on the top spot of the world rankings for the past three years.
