FIFA and Polish Football Association discuss cooperation as Presidents meet

  • First formal meeting between President Infantino and PZPN President Cezary Kulesza.

  • Productive talks in Doha ahead of FIFA Arab Cup 2021™ final

  • Dialogue focused on how FIFA can support Polish football

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has held a first formal meeting with Polish Football Association (PZPN) counterpart Cezary Kulesza, the two coming together in Doha to discuss the specifics of collaboration between the organisations for the benefit of the sport’s infrastructure and development in the country.

Mr Kulesza was elected to succeed Zbigniew Boniek as President earlier in 2021, and his meeting with Mr Infantino in Qatar on the fringes of the FIFA Arab Cup focused on the ways that FIFA can support the member association’s drive for sustainable football development.

Poland hosted a FIFA competition as recently as 2019, when neighbouring Ukraine lifted the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Lodz.

The senior men’s national team finished third at the FIFA World Cup in both 1974 and 1982 and the member association’s momentum to strengthen football’s foundations in Poland target a growth in participation and such impressive results in the future.
